Ever feel out of place in a room full of people?
Maybe you’ve wondered if your humor, your communication style, or even your cultural “flavor” fits in. Embracing differences isn’t always encouraged — but it’s time that changes.

Your culture shapes who you are. It holds your values, your traditions, and the stories that make you you. But how do you explore that when you feel out of place?

Let’s try something: Step into your place. Yes — you read that right. Step into YOUR place.

You can start by asking yourself:

  • Which parts of your identity feel most visible or invisible in different settings?

  • How can you reconnect with your heritage or create new traditions that feel authentic to you?

  • What aspects of your cultural heritage are you most grateful for?

  • Can you name a tradition, story, or value that has positively shaped who you are?

  • Who in your community or family has supported you in honoring your identity?

By stepping into your place, you begin to shape your own sense of belonging. It might feel challenging at times, but remember: the obstacles we face often build the strongest foundations.

Take a moment this week to reflect on one part of your heritage that makes you proud — that’s your step into belonging.
